Be Thankful

Colossians 3:15 |

Our natural, sinful state makes us prone to see what we lack, what we do not have and what has gone wrong in our lives. Complaining is often a default response.

However, gratitude is the pure, appropriate response to the saving and keeping grace of God. Its opposite is ingratitude, which can be deceptively dangerous in our lives and relationships. We are admonished to choose gratitude.

God calls us to be thankful people. And it is the very attitude of thanksgiving that can transform our lives. Even if one is wandering down the dark path of depression and despair, one can choose to be thankful.

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."
