He Restores My Soul
Psalm 23 |
David lived in a world of "green pastures and still waters", a world that sometimes seems a million miles away. Who will deny that many people today are experiencing an intense sense of personal emptiness? Who will deny that many today have lost their way in life?
David reminds us that God is with us; therefore nothing should daunt our spirits.
A "personal relationship".
"HE" restores my soul.
"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." John 17:3
A "present reality".
David reminds us about the importance of our daily dependence on God. We must learn to trust God today.
"Give us this day our daily bread."
A "perfect restoration".
Christ does not forgive us, and then leave us. Our relationship with Him is "to the uttermost" - completely, and forever.
