The Building of Our Lives
Matthew 7:24-27 |
"The rains came down and the floods come up!" It is inevitable that 2022 will bring stress and pressure, espcially with COVID-19 still changing everything about our lives.
Jesus said, "Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock."
Building Hope in 2022
"My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand."
Today's message is the first of three: My Hope is Built on Jesus (Luke 24:13-33)
Cleopas and Anne, disciples of Jesus and eyewitnesses to the crucifixion, were returning home to Emmaus on that resureection day.
"They stood still; their faces downcast."
"We had hoped that He was the one who was going to redeem Israel."
"How foolish you are. How slow to believe the prophets!"
"He explained to them all the Scriptures concerning Himself."
"Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"
