The Fruit We Bear
John 15:5 |
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
We're told to bear fruit many times by Christ and by the and by the Apostle Paul. Often times we look at it and see the fruits of the spirit laid out later in Galatians. But the fruit we are to bear go beyond love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We're also called to bear disciples. If we aren't bearing fruit, bearing disciples, can we truly say we are disciples of Christ. A disciple makes disciples. The 11 and Paul didin't go on and quit after Christ, they converted more disciples and grew the faith. That mission statement still stands today.
