Why Are You Gazing into the Heavens?

Acts 1:9-11 |

Truly, we look for "that blessed hope, the appearing of our great God, our Savior, Jesus Christ. This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven."

However, the angels at the Ascension of Jesus suggest that our eyes should be lowered to focus on the things of earth that our Lord has asked us to do. And when we apply ourselves to the advance of His kingdom, then these 120 disciples become our example to follow.

"They all joined together constantly in prayer."

"They were all with the one accord in one place."

"They were filled with the Holy Spirit."

They were "witnesses" to Jesus.

"They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:46-47
