Worship Isn't About You

John 17:1-5 |

In worship, God invites us to join Him in what He is already doing!

Worship isn't centered on me!

We should no define worship by how we feel, how passionate we are, what we sense or do not sense. We should not measure by crowd size, volume, or how many hands are raised.

Worship isn't defined by an experience!

Worship applies to all of life and not just a few moments during a scheduled service. The Hebrew and Greek words we translate as worship are associated with reverance, service, and honor - but rarely with an organzied service, whether through music or sermon.

Worship doesn't start and stop!

We are never not worshiping. At any given moment, we are directing our affections, attention, and allegiance either to the one true God or to idols that can never satisfy, comfort, or rescue us.

Worship is still about God's presence!

God has seated those who have trusted in Christ "with Him in the heavenly places." "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?" We are always in God's presence.

Worship will never end!

For those who are washed clean through the blood of Christ, worship will never, ever end.
